Gurpurab: The word Gurpurab is made of two words 'Guru' + 'Purab' (derived from Parv in Hindi), so the literal meaning of the word Gurpurab is 'festival/day associated with Guru'. The sikh festivals or important days associated with Sikh gurus are called as 'Gurpurab'.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji Birthday 2025

Guru Gobind Singh ji was the tenth guru of Sikhs, who was born at Patna Sahib (Bihar) on Poh Sudi 7 (ਪੋਹ ਸੁਦੀ ਸਤਵੀਂ). According to this, the date of parkash diwas or birthday gurpurab of Guru Gobind Singh ji in 2025 is Monday, 6th January 2025.

Baba Deep Singh Ji Birthday 2025

Baba Deep Singh ji, born in 1682, was the first head of Misl Shaheedan. He is remembered for his sacrifice and devotion to the teachings of the Sikh Gurus. He sacrificed his life while fighting Afgan army in Amritsar to defend Shri Harmandir Sahib.

The parkash diwas or birthday gurpurab of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji is celebrated on the puranmashi of Kattak month. In the year 2025, the date of Guru Nanak Dev ji Gurpurab is Wednesday, November 5, 2025 and we are going to celebrate 556th birth anniversary of Guru ji.

Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji was born in the year 1469 at Rai Bhoi di Talwandi (now in Pakistan) and Gurudwara Nankana Sahib is situated at this place. On the occassion of birthday gurpurab of Guru Nanak Dev ji, there is a gazetted holiday by central govt, public holiday in Punjab and many other states of India.
This Gurpurab is celebrated with much enthusiasm and religious fervour at Shri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple), Amritsar. Sikh sangat from across the world come to Amritsar to take part in the gurpurab celebrations with respect and devotion.
