As of March 2019, Sunil Jakhar of Congress is the current MP of Gurdaspur lok sabha seat. He won from this seat during the bypoll held in October 2017. He won by a margin of 1,90,000 votes and Swaran Salaria of BJP was the trailing candidate.
Vinod Khanna of BJP won from this constituency during the previous general elections held in April-May 2014. He got total 347394 votes and won by a margin of 136065 votes. Partap Singh Bajwa of Congress was at the second place and got 323697 votes.
